So good but sooo buggy lol. At least for me I've encountered
- Rewinding an episode doesn't refresh moves so all the words are on cool down when rewinding back to the first fight
- The screen going all fuzzy and softlocking after exiting the options menu. Experienced this on like the third "screen" of the map if that helps.
- I also just wish saving and loading was available
Keep it up, definitely just a diamond that needs polishing
i love shounen anime, I love martial arts, I love massive worldbuilding, I love anthro, I love latin american culture! everything about this game is AWESOME!! The gameplay and the idea of combining words to create attacks just like in anime is SUPER creative! The animation is very polished and the sprites are expressive and fun. The designs are diverse and unique. the character interactions are fun and seem really interesting too. I especially like Wolfe and Ax and their implied past. The game runs very smoothly and feels intuitive. despite being turned based, it doesn't feel like a drag at all! Very excited to explore this universe. My only complaints would be that while the music is cool, it could have less of a "midi" feel. Also i find anthro animals being named after their species kind of overdone. But Wolfe's name does kinda fit him somehow at the same time! I also feel like the cat character's design could be a little more attractive. Other then that i think this is wonderful. I will be wishlisting this game and playing it in full once it comes out
Wish you could save and exit
Sorry about that, the save system simply wasn't ready and still needs more testing. It will be there for the full game though!
FUCKING AMAZING
You made a gem, incredibly well done
Love the retro feel of the game :D
A blast, a fire, a gem.
From the classical and spotless anime art style, to the clever (and slightly spottier) move comb system.
I unfortunately can't love those 40 minutes more than my human limits, and it's safe to say this game will have a safe spot in my heart.
Reading this? why? just play it already.
There's no better love than criticism, so here goes:
-it's often that double size attacks are used after a bunch of modifiers, which is just inconvenient.
-hovering over attacks doesn't show the attack's usage most of the time, which I'm assuming is a bug since it does show about 1/4 of the time.
-Everything's easy, I'm sorry but the final boss was built up to be quite a threat (even if it's intelligible that she's not unstoppable) but personally I swept through her in 4-5 turns.
--You have a lot of damage options with too much space to commit them, you can very easily reach the enemies surrender health range, or accidentally kill them.
---In fact, after your two turns, the battle tends to become more balanced as you have less of said options.
--Enemies have very little to counter your damage.
--Run out of options? spam bat! lmao! pulverize their skull!
-items are, thus, unneeded.
-items are oversupplied.
-health is very easy to regain and retain.
There's a couple more bugs and design issues, and I have a very few issues with some parts of the plot, but overall, amazing.
Don't misread the above list as me having a lot of gripes with this.
From the bottom of the aforementioned, thank you, good luck on the full version.
Thank you for your feedback! It is truly appreciated.
Testing the balancing and the difficulty was one of the main goals of the demo. Seeing people play and share their ideas has been very informative, and we can't wait to keep improving upon it!
Thank you for playing again, and we hope you come back for the final release :)
I ABSOLUTELY ADORE THIS GAME! I love the art direction, it really does justice to its source material. The audio is amazing, love the sound effects. The game play is fun and can't wait to see it go further, very interesting mechanic can't say I ever seen it. I also love I can just befriend everyone adds another layer and will for sure play to be friends with everyone. The story so far is so good, I love when the story is naturally unfolding and the viewer gets to learn about the world as it goes on. Remind me so much of 80's/90's animated movies where the story just throws you in and you start to learn more about it as it unfolds. The characters are well written and their designs are great, I love Ringo, they are childish but not in an annoying way, Wolfe also seems like a ruff and tuff type but has a kind heart. Can't wait to continue the story and see where it goes! I did run into a glitch after the Wolfe boss fight where the audio and text would play, but the visuals were gone. (This was commented on in the Discord though) I do feel some more explanation on end act symbols on the map should be explained, I did not know what they meant at first, maybe having a preview / info box saying what this is would help? ( i.e the ele! pep up! and extra spot symbols) Also when fighting the preview would not show me damage information sometimes. Overall, this is one of my top anticipated games!
Thank you so much for playing and sharing your feedback!
Really enjoyed the demo! The word combination system is fun out of the gate and I can see how it would get really engaging later. :)
Here is my feedback:
1) The biggest thing I'd like to request is text speed! Please please please give us an option to crank the speed of text to instant. This really a factor that determines whether I'll play text heavy games.
2) This isn't as clear but most of my issues with combat involved not getting information when hovering over things. Words often don't give information and it's still unclear to me where I need to hover to get total damage/effect.
3) If you start with adjectives you can't later pick a two-slot word like Jab or something even if you have slots.
4) I would like to know the actual honor values for stuff (assuming that honor will be important in the real game). Do you get a lot more for KOs? Seems like it might be, but I'm guessing.
Overall I liked this and look forward to more! I have followed you on Kickstarter. :)
Thank you so much!
1) Yup, it's in our plans.
2) Most of what you describe are input bugs that will be fixed soon. A tool-tip system was also in place, but it decided not to work for the demo. We'll fix that as well.
3) Noted, that's a good point.
4) This was omitted for the demo, since you can't use honor yet. But in the full game, you will spend your honor on permanent upgrades by training outside of episodes. (KO's actually grant less honor btw).
Thanks for playing! Our Kickstarter is most likely not going to happen at this point (we signed with a publisher). The best way to support us right now is to follow/wishlist the game on Steam!
Great game. Love the animations and unique battle system. There were some UI issues where I couldn't scroll down menus to properly see elements. Can't wait to play the rest of the game.
Thanks for playing!
We are aware of the UI issues and we're working on improving scrolling for both mouse and controller. Thanks for reporting it.
Been, enjoying the game quite a bit, though I have been having issues with it crashing on me when I go into battle. Basically, when I start a battle, everything is lagging and the characters aren't showing up on the screen.
Thank you so much for playing!
The problem you described has been reported before, and a fix was added in the latest patch. But you confirmed that it's still happening, sorry about this!
Would you mind sharing your PC specs? Also, did you play with mouse or controller?
Alright, I use a gaming laptop, an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57
11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11800H @ 2.30GHz 2.30 GHz
64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU
I was using an xbox controller, the new ones for the Series X and S, to play through the game. Though, I also did had an issue where it took time to for the right info to show up for the PrepUp people (like the words they might have and specific specialty) and it not scrolling when going down the list of the ones I've recruited as well.
Thanks for providing more info! This will help us investigate further solutions hopefully.
Stellar
Cool
Gorgeous! Cant wait for the full Game!
Thanks a lot! Happy to hear it \^^/
Any chance of a native Linux build?
Not for the time being! We'll consider other platforms after launch.
loved it, super excited for the final game!!
Thank you so much for playing!!
cool
Thanks!
